Around dusk grey headed flying foxes will leave the roost and travel up to 50km a night to feed on pollen necter and fruit, this kind of bat eats fruit, flowers and pollens from around 187 plant speicies. These include eucalypt particulary Corymbia gummifera, Eucalyptus muelleriana, E. globoidea and E. boytryoides and fruits from a wide range of rainforest trees, including members of the genus Ficus. These bats, along with three other Australian flying foxes, play a very important role dispersing the pollen and seeds of a wide rage of plants native to Australia
